(Say “MAY come burr” )
As a Professional Member of the National Association of Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists, I have been using either manual or cold laser therapy to help free people from their chronic and acute pain for over 25 years. I was board certified (CMTPT) in 1994, after completing well over 600 hours of training in Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy based on Doctors Janet Travell and David Simons’ Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction: The Trigger Point Manual. My training was by apprenticeship for a year at the Myofascial Pain Control Clinic in Springfield, Virginia, and then completed with an internship at Mid-Hudson Myotherapy in New Paltz, New York. I began my practice at the Synergy Dance and Healing Arts Center in Washington DC where I was an instructor (dance movement as healing art) as well as an Associate Polarity Practitioner (APP). I later worked at the LifePath Health Center in Bethesda, and now from my home office in Wheaton, Maryland. While I take a strictly scientific, western approach with my treatment protocol, I am not unversed in energy medicine. As do all Myofascial Trigger Point Therapists, I assess and treat my patients holistically, providing knowledge and support, in addition to treatment, to better ensure a successful outcome. In addition to being an MTPT, I hold a Maryland State massage license (LMT).
